I'm BACK!

Seminar was AWESOME!  What an adventure to get there though!  My luggage was overweight from the start, I missed my flight (the airline's fault), I missed two standby flights, I slept overnight in O'hare airport, my luggage was lost, my trades were in my lost luggage, the document camera pooped out just before all the classes, I hastily worked on "the fix", roomed with my awesome Stampin' Mamma Chelsea, Met some AMAZING Angels, stamped, stamped, stamped, made some videos, shopped, had some delicious eggs and bacon from a little aspiring chef and....

breathed in the fresh air of....HOME... Someday...I'll be HOME for good...

Here are some of my favorite pictures (didn't take many):
Of course, I HAD to start off with the delicious dessert! (lighting wasn't the greatest)
This was DEELISH!  The sauce was so flavorful!

Even the QUEEN showed up!  ") (ugghhh...the lighting)

AMAZING VISIT TO THE COVER SHOOT LOCATION to take some shots for myself:
That's the spot on the cover!
That's Angela Kelley our COVER ARTIST on location!

Here are some other shots that I LOVE LOVE LOVE...what a great place to take photos of old farm implements!
I hope everyone had as much fun as I had and for those who didn't have an opportunity to come this year, start saving your pennies for next year....It's such a special, special time!!!

For all Angels who left their email and address information after my class session, I'll be sending you the PDF documents and the updated class measurements soon.  Watch your inbox.
To all Angels who so generously swapped with me when my luggage and swaps were lost in Chicago, I thank you very much.  If you didn't get something from me after it was found on Friday, I'll be sending you something very soon.

June 14...It's FLAG DAY in AMERICA!

Hello stampers!  Today is a very special day.  It's Flag Day and it's time to CELEBRATE!  Do you know what that means?  Do you know why Americans celebrate this day?  Well, Check it out HERE.  Fly YOUR flag to show your pride in AMERICA!!!

To CELEBRATE this special day, and on the Savvy Projects Blog, we're having our own FLAG DAY Celebration in the form of a HOP.  We've even been given a treat from Nina B, one High Flyin', ROCKIN' and Rollin'  Designer for TAC.  I am sharing two cards  I created with her new set, VINTAGE RIDES that incorporate the use of a FLAG...I challenge YOU to make a card with a flag too!

My first card was created with my current Color Throwdown #5 challenge in mind.

It's a pretty clean and simple card, really.  I wanted the focus to be drawn to the banner AND the plane...That's it!!! I cut a one inch strip of each patterned paper then cut uniform triangles.  I colored some white paper with the yellow Copic to make it match perfectly.  After attaching the triangles to some rope, I attached the "Zooming By" sentiment to the edge then glued everything down.  The edges of the triangles were slightly curled to give added dimension to this card.

Stamps Used: Vintage Rides
Ink: Memento Black, Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze
Copics: R000, 02,27, 35; Y06, 19,38; B05; C1, 5
Papers: Bazzill Red, White Caboodles, Designer Collection "Tuscany Spice", "Winterberry"
Martha Stewart Bakers Twine (red)
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Inkssentials Pop Dots

This card meets the requirements for the following challenges:
SOS Shopping our Stash:  SOS Challenge #4:  Stars paper

Here's my second card...GIRLY and SPARKLY!!!  (You know me!)
School's OUT!  Summer Bike Ride...I created this card by placing the bike to the far left of the page so I could add a stick for the "flag".  I remember having a "banana seat bike with a flag positioned just like it!".  Those were the days.  Because there was a lot of white space, I added some stippling with various light Copic Colors to create depth and a little dimension.  Grounding the bike you'll find some "snipped" grass....The perfect touch for this LONG card measuring approximately 6 x 4.25 inches.
A little closer and you can see the feathering technique used as well as some stippling.  And...Corner rounded and stitched the card!!!

Favorite things...

The Savvy Projects blog has challenged me (and YOU) to post something FAVORITE...Now, this could mean a favorite project, a favorite color, a favorite technique, a favorite WHATEVER...Sooo...I decided to post THIS card because it has just a sampling of some of my favorite things:
*** Pleats
Pleated the TAC patterned paper!
*** Sketches:
My own sketch with a few tweaks.
*** PINK
(I tend to use a LOT of pink so I must love it, right?)

Used two flower sets for this piece.  Stamped the big flower then overstamped with the background flowers
*** Ribbon
I never make a card without a little ribbon somewhere!
*** Sparkle
LOVE adding Stickles to add a little bling!
*** Doodling (well, kinda)
Hand stitching or doodling pictures...LOVE IT!
*** Colorbox Chalk Ink...MMMMMMMM juicy...Is all I can say!

Hoping your day is DELIGHTFUL!

Hey stampers!  Today I'm sharing another card I created using this month's SOTM "You Make My Heart Sing".  I also pulled a little sentiment from the current set "Brighten Your Day".  I am almost positive these two stamp sets were designed by the same artist because they are PERFECT pairs...If you already have "Brighten Your Day", you'll want to make sure to get the new LE set this month.

It's a pretty simple sketch, really.  I went to my go-to ribbed white cardstock and some really light Bazzill blue, then matted the tree on some Bazzill Red...Tying it all together was the Martha Stewart bakers twine in red and green.  How'd I create my sentiment tag?  Just stamped on white cardstock then used my corner rounder to give it that "taggie" feeling.

Copic Colors???  Yep here they are:  YG13, R35 (tree, grass and flowers); E15, 25, 55, YR24

Sending several of these cards (and images) off to stamping friends in my Virtual Swap so watch your mailbox!
