Mr. Green Jeans...

Going Green....

Hey stampers!  How are you enjoying the GOING GREEN extravaganza thus far?  Have you been inspired by the color green, become a "tree hugger" or are you beginning some much needed Spring cleaning and organizing???

Today I hope to inspire you to be more earth conscious, embrace everything GREEN and get into a STAMPING Frenzy!  Oh yeah!

So today It's my day on the TAC SAVVY PROJECTS BLOG.  My day to share some fun projects with you and I hope they inspire you to get into the GREEN spirit!

Introducing  Mr. Green Jeans!

My first project is a card created with this month's Stamp Set of the Month.  T3381 Good Things is just the set that reminded me so much of my wonderful Grandpa!  I miss him so much.  I stamped the image then colored with my Copic markers.

Copics used in this design include: G2, 24; YG03, 11, 95; BG10; Shoes and Hair: C1, 3, 5; YR23; E31,33, 35, 50, colorless blender.  I also used the sentiment set:  T2890 Be Still.

My next project was a TRASH TO TREASURE rescue!  I hate to throw away a pair of jeans, but when they are so worn out, you've just gotta do it!  This time, before tossing them, I snipped off some parts to use in projects!
I call this little drink cover "DRINK JEANS".  It is perfect to use as a drink "koozie" and works very well on many different styles of bottles.  I thought I'd be kid friendly here and display it on a Ginger Ale bottle...but I've got other plans for it (WINK WINK)...If you are planning on heading to Seminar this summer, I'll be carrying THIS!!!

You can find more photos and a complete tutorial on the TacSAVVY PROJECTS blog...

Please join the GREEN project.  Upload your projects to our inlinkz gallery.  You just may win a prize this month!!!

See you soon!

It's a PARTAY...

PARTAY...YEAH!

In searching for just the right paper and stamps to create my Color Throwdown Challenge example, I came across something in my kitchen cupboard...Something I purchased A LONG TIME AGO to give away as a gift...I never got around to altering it up...UNTIL TODAY!  I knew it was the PERFECT item to alter for my color THROWDOWN this month...I'm repurposing, recycling...and HAVING A PARTAY!  LOL...

So did you see the original post for my Color Throwdown #2?  Do you LOVE the colors?  Well, here's my take on the color palate...

THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING:
Yes, it's a popsicle gift set...hmmsnnhhh...ADULT POPSICLE GIFT SET if you will...I found this little package at Bed Bath and Beyond a while ago and it's been waiting patiently to be altered.  Today was the day to use it!  I took the packaging apart (the plastic was like a cover) and set out to make a template of the paper portion of the packaging.  After making the template in Bazzill Blossom cardstock, I continued to alter it by selecting some patterned paper...Kaleidoscope Girls, to be exact.  The pink plaid worked perfectly to wrap around those flavoring vials!  All it needed now was some STAMPING so I pulled out two sets I thought would work perfectly:  T2990 Sweet Goodies and one of my favorite hostess level A sets, TA8324 Whoo Loves Ya?

First I wrapped the vials with patterned paper and threaded them through the plastic handle.

Then I stamped the Bazzill Blossom cardstock using Versamagic White ink.
Then I put the package together and attached some green ribbon.

After that, I stamped the sentiment twice (Whooo Me?) and cut it out in a tag shape, poked a hole and threaded some green bakers twine to tie in a bow.

Next, I stamped some little flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my Copics:  YG06, 11; R20, 35, 85.  I attached the flowers with a pop dot to some green cardstock (upcycled from a set of green cards).

Finally, I stamped the circular sentiment, punched it out with my Classic Circles Nesties then cut a matching scalloped circle to finish it off...Oh wait...I had to add some BLING too!!! LOL
Hope you enjoyed this little project and I would like to encourage you to join me this month in the color challenge inspired by Color Throwdown #2

PS...SNEAK PEEK....Tomorrow I'm sharing my GREEN projects at the TAC Savvy Projects blog and right here on my blog...here's a little sneak...More DRINKS involved ;)

Seeing Shamrocks!

Hey Stampers!

Ever spend so much time on the computer that you start to see things?  I mean, really...Your eyes get tired, words start hopping all over the page, you see something zip across the page when it really isn't there....Well, if you haven't experienced this phenomenon yet, prepare yourself...

We're SEEING GREEN!!!  YOU'LL SEE IT TOO!

So get that inky spirit!!!  BUT....Before you hop around searching for that something special,  I'm here to give you a little help...  I'm here to help you SEE something.

Something FABULOUS!
Something FUN!!
Something GREEN!!!

....so to help you prepare for the SEARCH of a lifetime (hee hee), I've created this card to inspire you to follow the leader because everyone knows, the NOSE knows....HEE HEE HEE...

For this card, I used the GWP stamp Trunk of Love (TG3433).  I replaced the hearts with doodled shamrocks.   I also used Background Soup (T3346) to add a little image contrast to the card.  Of course, you know me and my Copics.  We're never far apart so I used those too!!!

Now these little elephants were definitely on a MISSION...They went over that BIG rock in search of a neverending supply of shamrocks!  You can hop off to search for them too....

If you would like the directions to make this card, let me know. I created a PDF version to guide you and your customers through the process...FUN!!!

I'm entering this card in Sandy's Challenge #3 HERE.  "Feature some fun little animals, use any combination of green, yellow, brown, and white"  Thanks Sandy for the heads up!
